Hand drawn feather sketches

  • Hello, I'm Allison, the artist behind the feather sketches. Art has been a constant presence in my life, growing up in a family deeply rooted in design. Following in my father's footsteps, I have evolved into an entrepreneur in the interior design industry. My upbringing not only influenced my career, but it has also been a huge catalyst for wanting to help others. I was raised with a loving Down Syndrome sister, Jennifer, giving me a unique perspective on how I see the world, through a lense of honesty, empathy, humor and love. I do not take anything for granted. In being authentic and transparent, I also unfortunately lost a half brother whom took his own life when I was only 10 years old. I had to grow up quick and it was rough but my experiences taught me life lessons early on in youth. I lean on my faith and am blessed with two thriving children, Lauren and Duke.

My passion for drawing, especially with pencils and oil pastels, has been a lifelong gift. The inspiration for my feather sketches emerged during the lockdown, taking walks with my my dog Maverick, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Finding an abundant amount of feathers along the way, I heard a quiet but compelling voice urging me to return to the drawing board. The first feather, an owl's, became the catalyst.

Without hesitation, I dusted off my colored pencil collection, allowing my intuition to guide my hand in capturing the intricate details of the feather. I shared my first drawing with a mix of pride and humility on social media, the positive response prompted me to make them available for sale. Commissions followed, with each piece being inspired by a meditative connection to my clients.

These sketches, which I consider as "angel feathers," seem to channel through me, often providing spiritual healing for those who receive them. There's a profound connection I feel with each feather, and I am genuinely delighted to share this meaningful journey with others. Whether you enjoy them in your home or gift them to someone special, I hope my sketches bring joy, inspiration and healing.

FUN FACT...I attended Piedmont Highschool and participated in the Annual BIrd Calling Contest. My senior year (1991) I was chosen to perform my bird call on Johnny Carson, (The Tonight Show) the last year Johnny was on the air.

Hand drawn COCKTAIL sketches

  • Allison created the Happy Hour collection based on her passion for decorating a good bar cart. The concept began with a black paper sketch pad and the contrast on how the glassware just pops off the page creating a 3D illusion. These are fantastic displayed in a shadow box for free standing styling purposes. The new "Sips"collection is ideal for popping into shelving to complete a vignette or mix in when designing the bar cart! Uses are endless and the perfect gift. What is your cocktail of choice?
